TEKKE ENGSI Tekke engsi- Probably last quarter of the 19th Century. Piece has great wool- supply with a lovely sheen. Design is later 19th C - more crowded field with the darker colors associated with these pieces. Colors are good, but not phenomenal, but they work on the piece. It is very attractive. Probably best for someone with a true appreciation for Turkoman weavings, but may not be early enough for a "Turkomaniac". For the price however, this is an outstanding rug. Slight end loss and stabilization- as expected for a rug of this age.
