Libation Vessel, 19th century, Bolivia. Vessels such as this were used in ritual circumstances to make offerings to the spirits. The two simply carved bulls are symbolic of power and procreation. This vessel has a beautiful patina and is carved from hardwood. Tool marks are evident throughout. Size 10.5 inches in diameter x 2.5 inches high.
