13085, 264x171cm. Circa 1880. Decorative antique Bakhtiar kilim. It is difficult to find Bakhtiar kilims in these dimensions, as like most persian kilims the bigger sizes are usually long and narrow. The field is decorated with repeated diamonds, which is framed with a pretty geometric border. The feel and character of this piece can only be properly appreciated close up, as you would be able to feel the soft shiny wool and the effect of the ageing of the natural dyes. The intact finishes at each end is indicative of the good condition of this piece considering the age.
