An Exceptional Turkoman / Turkmen flatweave Okbash. It dates to late 19th century and is attributed to Yomud / Yomut tribe. These bag shaped weavings were used as yurt (nomadic circular tent) pole covers when a family was migrating. a brilliant old and complete example with a lovely tribal design, excellent colours (particularly the petrol colour) and full tassels.
