Dazzling Kurdish Drejan Tribe woman's prayer rug from eastern Anatolia between Gaziantep and Malatya. Lustrous wool on a goat hair warp with top and bottom çiçim embroidered kilim guards and bound tassels. Natural dyes, including the orange, a particular feature of Kurdish rugs from this area. Size 170cm x 70cm. From the 1920s in excellent condition with just one nomadic repair to the lower left selvage edge.
