South East Asia: Magnificent all rattan hand woven Rawang “san phi” basket, from the remote Putao area, Northern Burma near the Tibetan border. This one is quite old circa 50- 80 years, in good condition (one repaired loop), still pliable and not brittle, with excellent natural patina. The Rawang are a subgroup of the Kachin people and live in some of the last great wilderness forests left in Burma.
