Bijar-Shahsavan bag face, nw Persia, Size 23" x 22", Circa 1850, this khorjin was woven in the region between Mianeh and Bijar, although it is frequently labeled Khamseh-Shahsavan, familiar members of the Shahsavan design repertoire are skillfully employed throughout, the natural dyes have developed an impressive patina, Tanavoli has written that, '---the emerald green used in these khorjin is completely different from all other greens'.
