Central Anatolian Rug Fragment: The artful color palette of this Anatolian rug fragment combines speckled indigo sky-blue, pistachio, rose, and a highly successful aubergine, used both as pile and weft. Such a particular range of colors suggest a weaving area south of Konya, most probably somewhere in the vicinity of the Karaman / Karapinar area. The wool and weave are soft, supple, and a pure tactile delight. While just a fragment, enough information is preserved to still make a powerful and compelling visual statement.
