#7455 Kazak This Kazak from the second half of the 19th century measures 3’5” x 4’0” (106 x 121 cm). It has a dark blue field with a navy blue abrash at the top. The field is basically filled with a gigantic red cross. The cross has little abstract animals, men with arms in the air like strong men and Memling guls. The entire cross is surrounded with a thin ivory border containing an abstract meandering s motif. There are five flower heads across the top of the rug and two red men that look very like space men with wide open ivory eyes. Across the bottom are some more Memling guls, flower heads and a couple of birds. The rug has a border design I’ve not seen before. There are peach, brown, blue, and ivory objects shaped like Maltese crosses on a red ground. The outer border is meandering s on an ivory ground. The rug has excellent pile. It has complete ends and sides. It is clean and ready to go.  The buyer pays the shipping with insurance. http://www.antiqueorientalrugs.com/caucasian3.htm
