Antique Caucasian Gendje Kazak rug with star and lattice design. www.knightsantiques.co.uk Circa 1880. Size: 7ft 11in x 4ft 0in (241 x 122cm). This rug is an excellent example of Kazak weaving from the town of Gendje in the South Eastern Caucasus. The field design is stars within a diamond lattice on a powder blue field. The border is a well drawn example of the crab border which is also found on many Kazak rugs. The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. Stock Number: r-1447.
