This is a first half of the 20th century Persian Neyriz wool-on-cotton rug in the Tree of Life design with avian motifs. The weavers in this small Fars town in southwest Iran seem partial to the Qashqa'i patterns observable in this case in the two lions figures menacingly guarding the two zir khani (vases) at the foot of the tree.
