Ancient Native American Caddo Indians pottery, hand coiled clay, a type called Belcher Ridged, Mississippian Period, ca. 1100ad - 1500ad, the Caddo inhabited the Red River drainage area, where Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas meet, a distinctive slightly globular tear drop shape decorated with vertical ridges, heavily restored, reconstructed from broken sherds, when the restoration was done, a faux finish was added, i have removed the faux finish to return the piece to it's mostly original patination, the approximate size is 6 inches x 7 inches, #8964, source "An Introductory Handbook of Texas Archeology"; by Suhm & Krieger, shipping is extra
