2th Half Of the 19th Century Persian Sauj Bulag Rug, Known as Sauj Bulag these Kurdish rugs were made in the mountainous region south of Lake Urmia. Their ornamentation already reveals slight influences of the rugs from the nearby Caucasus. Antique examples like the item offered here are captivating due to their brilliant, harmonious colors and glossy pile wool. a tree aligned on the central axis of the field constitutes the symmetrical axis of a very dense floral design of blossoming trees and large palmettes. – Slightly corroded brown, good condition, the original finishes survive all around.Size 131 x 296 cm
