The rug has very soft wool and a very floppy handle. The rug is beautifully drawn with superb colours through out. Rugs of this exact design have been woven from the 18th century onwards. The rug is in good condition with some wear in places and generally good pile. The rug has a number of re-woven areas, these include the lappets at the top end and a section of the border on the right hand side, along with a scattered old repairs, these are reflected in the price.
