Antique Indian Kantha Embroidery Quilt. From the West Bengal region of India. 59 x 39 inches. Wonderful, kinetic design in good condition. Pinwheels, flowers, cannon, Bengali inscription (unknown translation). Nice, colorful running stitch borders. Bengal is known for its fine Kantha work made from cotton cloth that is quilted and embroidered with cotton thread and running stitch. Has not been washed. More photos available.
