Tekke turreted gul chuval, circa 1800, finely woven with pashmina wool, elegantly highlighted with jewel-like corrosive crimson insect dyed wool and crimson silk: an unusual piece showing very round guls. Most Tekke pieces with this design do not show guls with the archaic roundness of the ones in this piece. The handle is like unto the finest cloth. Both sides are damaged and are restorable but do not detract from the piece as a whole. Good pile overall, remnants of fine kelim at bottom, 43''x 29''(109 x 71cm)
