The four bold archaic medallions are eye catching and unfamiliar to me as is the ivory main border design. Note the numerous design changes seen in the narrow minor border. i don’t think the weaver could squeeze any more filler motifs on the lovely mahogany brown ground. The rug has had a hard life with scattered wear, small holes, edge gouges and loss. As found, very dirty with oxidized blacks. The wide range of good natural colors should look great after a good wash. Excellent greens and strong yellow highlights. Unusual weaving, probably 3rd qtr. 19th c. 3’10”x 9’10”
