Antique South West Persian Kashkuli Qashqai rug with all over small floral herati design. Size: 8ft 4in x 5ft 1in (253 x 155cm). Circa 1900. www.knightsantiques.co.uk a very attractive rug by the Kashkuli sub tribe of the Qashqai. The rug has a madder red field with a indigo blue to the corners of the field. The field is covered in a floral herati design with multiple flowering shrubs. The rug has a classic Kashkuli border on a brown ground flanked on either side with an ivory guard stripe. This is a very good decorative Kashkuli rug. The rug has very slight wear with good pile with soft wool, note the original checker board finishes at both ends.
