Antique Ersari Turkmen main carpet from Southern Turkmenistan or Northern Afghanistan.

Circa 1870.
Size: 10ft 4in x 7ft 3in (315 x 220cm).
This fine carpet has three rows of seven large guls with a linked star shaped minor gul. The field is of a warm abrashed madder red colour with shades of blue and soft green used in the guls. There are many different tribal design elements used through out the field. The carpet retains its original long kilim ends, these show signs of old repairs that are now slightly faded.
The carpet is in excellent condition with even wear and medium / low pile.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use such as a dining room or a living room.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
