This is a wonderful Japanese children's yukata, or cotton kimono, with a bold shibori dyed pattern of undulating lines and flowers. This dyed pattern was created using multiple techniques, including ori-nui (folded and stitched) and kumo (spiderweb) and shifts gracefully from vibrant shades of turquoise to inky, dark indigo.

This hand stitched kimono is in excellent condition for it's age. There are two diminutive spots on the upper left shoulder that do not detract from the overall appearance.

Early twentieth century (Taisho or early Showa period). 41.5" x 37", 95 cm x 106 cm.
