chamba rumaal a rare Rumaal hand-embroidered in the typical style of Chamba, Himchal Pradesh, India. This Rumaal depicts Krishna in the forest doing various activities: offering flowers to Gopis, combing another Gopi’s hair, stealing butter from a Gopi’s pot and playing the flute standing on a lotus flower while being flanked by two Gopis. Beautiful trees, peacocks, cows, flowers, etc fill the background. This embroidery is distinctive in its style with its characteristic two-sided design with vibrant colours.
