a very early Qashqai bag face. It is of the highest quality and workmanship. After searching through much literature on the subject i have not been able to find another that looks as old as this one. It very well may be the oldest one on record. i base this on the archaic rendering of the design within the central medallion. It is super fine and i am almost positive it has silk wefting. There is no picture i can take that would do it justice. The wool glistens, there is a very high degree of definition to the details and the colors are deeply saturated and absolutely brilliant. It is mounted on a frame of cloth with wood around the perimeter. The frame measures approximately 25.6 x 27.6 inches. i believe this piece belongs in a museum and should be published. It is a Masterpiece! a true work of art!
