When one refers to the weave of tribal rugs as “crispy”, it means rugs with the thinnest foundations and highest qualities. These rugs are very rare and collectable and if found in reasonable conditions demand high prices. This collectable antique handmade Turkmen wool rug belonging to Tekke tribes is most definitely one of these pieces. It measures 150x130cm (4'9"x4'3") and was made around the second quarter of the 19th century, has rows of octagonal Guls in naturally dyed blood red field surrounded by similarly decorated inner and outer borders.
