This colorful runner was woven in Persia, in the vicinity of Hamadan. a column of colorful diamonds, articulated with arrowhead motifs, is drawn against a brick red ground. Eight-pointed stars are rendered in the centers of each, while small birds are drawn in the centers of the half diamonds on either side. The piece is framed by multiple thin geometric and floral borders, reminiscent of Kurdish village weaving.
