Antique Hindu temple token, or 'tanka', or "Ramtanka', depicting, on one side, Rama and his consort, Sita, seated upon a durbar, with Hanuman, the monkey god, beneath and, on the opposing side, Ram with his brother, Lakshman. The scene is lifted from the great Hindu epic, the Ramayana. These 'tankas' were carried by pilgrims as acts of devotion to various Gods and ceremonies. 18th-19th c. 1/8" diameter. Acquired last century in Tamil Nadu, s India.
