Impeachment hearing special! Way rarer than Trump telling the truth.
Highly unusual Andean four-cornered hat. a.d. 500 - 900. This hat is made with open-work panels on four sides. At first glance it appears to be a Tiwanaku-type hat made in the typical looped technique, but it is completely different from other Tiwanaku hats in having an open-work structure akin to - but not woven in - a slit tapestry structure. It was not made on a loom. i have not seen another four-cornered hat made in this structure of the many i have examined over the last 40 + years - it remains unique. It is closer in size to Wari hats than to Tiwanaku pieces which are usually larger. It could have been made by the Wari. However, since it is unlike any other Wari piece I've seen it remains a bit of a mystery. This hat is from an important private collection and for any Andean hat collector this piece will be unique among other pieces in their collection. It has some damage and has been professionally conserved. It has very beautiful colors and is quite fine and supple. It is reasonably priced for such an unique four-cornered hat. This is one for the discerning collector. Size: 5 x 7 x 22 inches in circumference.
