An excellent Antique 19th century Uzbek Adras quilted Ikat shield shaped hanging from Bokhara / Bukhara region. It is an
early Ikat woven with silk warp and cotton weft adras. The gorgeous design is made up of archaic motifs of white palmettes one white with green heart shaped inner detail against a rich red ground. This is interspersed with abstract curling motifs in a yellow and natural pink. The colours are gorgeous and derived from natural dyes. It has nice silk cross stitched embroidered trim on the top and silk with silver tassels on the bottom. It is in relatively good condition with a cotton lining. a gorgeous piece textile art offered at a good price. . Size: 54cm (21.5”) x 37cm (14””) / tassels extend 12cm (5”)
