Dating to the 19th century, this excellent Central Asian embroidery has wonderful workmanship with an archaic design and gorgeous rustic colours. While one does see younger and more coarse examples in the market, a piece with such finesse is hard to find. The eagle wing design and colours are exceptional. These are often referred to as tobacco pouches but they were very likely coin bags made as a bridal dowry offering for the groom..
