This Anatolian kelim fragment is of obvious aesthetic value and the visible condition problems don't detract from that. It is definitely an early 19th piece and perhaps earlier, and once belonged to the infamous JC. The piece has wonderful proportions and colors. Among the colors are a beautiful and idiomatic aubergine, and a non-corrosive brown which I believe is a natural wool color.
