Old Camel Girth Band from the Thar Desert Region in Rajasthan, India. The band is 4 inches x 102 inches (not including the 12 inch tassels) woven from goat hair. These types of camel bands were featured in Hali No. 117 in an article titled, "Ply-Split Braiding in Northwest India." This type of ply-split weaving is done only in the Thar Desert region of nw India.
