Old Textile from Bhutan, known as kushu bundri, used as a cloth for wrapping and carrying things, functioning like a backpack bundle. 46 x 46 inches. In the book, "From the Land of the Thunder Dragon," the author describes a similar example: "An auspicious swastika decorates this bundri for wrapping bundles. The textile is woven as a long panel cut into three equal lengths joined together in the warp direction; the ends are hemmed and cloth ties attached at the corners . . . notice how the half-diamond motifs are carefully aligned to meet at the seams of the panels." (p. 137). This textile is in excellent condition. The only condition issue is a dark inch-square stain visible in the center of the textile (some kind of resin).
