An extraordinary primitive and expressionistic yoruk prayer kilim from Cal in Western Anatolia. The bright colours and spontaneous weaving belie the fact that this kilim has some age to it. i estimate it was woven in the 1930’s or 40s and by a man. In very good condition with a professional reweave to a 9x4cm section in the upper left striped border.
