This flatwoven complete tent bag exemplifies the Turkmen love for madder red. Though probably woven in the early twentieth century the spacing of the field elements recalls the proportions of earlier weavings. Indeed, no synthetic dyes are used in this piece. Of special quality is the use of cotton white in the center of the Memling guls which provides for a rich contrast with the darker indigo embroidery and against the red ground.
