chinese embroidered banner (hanging) featuring 21 FIGURES
Faces, hands and feet (shoes) are embroidered in silk floss in the satin stitch technique. Robes and other clothing are made up of solid metallic thread (metal wrapped around a silk core)in the couched technique. Other scattered motifs on the red silk ground are couched in metallic threads.
The outer borders (two) are satin stitched silk floss embroidery showing floral & bird motifs.3/4 inch in diameter metal disks are sewn at even intervals between the two floral outer borders.(some disks missing)
Size: 3 feet 11 inches x 15 feet 9 inches (47 inches x 189 inches) (47" x 189")
Measurements include tassels and knotted borders.Condition:
Couch work is in very good condition, however there are a few small areas that need tacking down.
