Circa 1900/1940 India / Punjab Interesting scarlet twill pashmina shawl embroidered with gold and silver Zari work. this kind of embroidery became popular in northern India and was made for special occasions from the mid-nineteenth century. The zari embroidery gold thread is a twisted spiral entirely handsewn on the twill pashmina. we can see kalka boteh surrounding red fringes and two brocades sewn on each side borders.
