Pictorial Afshar Rug, South Persia, circa 1900, 3'11" x 4'6" This charming piece depicts a hunter with what seem to be a quiver of arrows and a falcon. He is holding a lamb atop an elaborately adorned camel. Perhaps this is a reference to the legendary King Bahram-i Gur or some other figure from Persian literature or history?
