Sauj Bulaq Kurd 4 x 8.4 ft., circa 1890. Great fat Genge border with wonderful clear natural reds, green, some aubergine; the field design is what Stone 2004:216 identified as "Sauj Bulaq Memling Gul and Flower." Majority of weft is red but some alternating blue as well. Honest old Kurdish reweaves at one end. Aside from this it is in choice condition with full pile, original ends and selvedges. a pretty cool thing for the Kurd collector who thought he had everything.
