a splendid Uzbek silk nim suzani from the oasis of Bukhara, dating back to the first half of the 19th century on account of its bold, uncluttered design and brilliant natural colour palette. It is in very good state of preservation, with some professional repair to the hand-woven cotton ground. The silk embroidery is 99% intact. It measures 55 x 42 inches (140 x 107 cm). It is very rare to find this particular field design on any suzani, let alone on a compact nim suzani such as this. It has no spots, and it is lined.
