Square Moonshawl made in Kashmir (India) entirely kani woven in one piece . Its designs is composed of wavy branches on red ground with palms, scrolls and boteh. The moon and quarter moons patterns are "mille fleurs" in stylized and geometric designs. The two opposite (more white) borders and the red pashmina fringes are reported as was the tradition. The two other borders are woven with the main field (not sewn!).Its weaving in pure cashmere makes the shawl very soft, lightweight and easy to wear. In one corner, the number 3702 is embroidered in white. Good condition and colors for its age.
Measures: 167 cm x 184 cm.
A dozen very small holes (easily restorable on kani shawls) less than 0.2 " each . Three small repairs, no tears or stains. The photos do not do it justice (the red color ground makes difficult to take photos). Shawl is better in real !.
