This is a vest that was made in one of the countries that was part of the Ottomon Empire before the First World War. Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Turkey, among others were all part of the Ottomon Empire and one of them was probably where the vest was made. The gold thread is not embroidery. The technique is called Couching which means that the threads are laid out on the fabric according to the pattern of the design and then sewn on by hand so skillfully that they are totally hidden to the observer. This type of work was done by professional craftsmen for wealthy people since buying a vest made this way was extremely difficult expensive. The fabric is dark purple and there is a lining. The buttons have a coral bead at the tip of each one. It is a very small size.The condition is perfect.
