Woman's ceremonial wrapper ( tapis), Lampung region, s. Sumatra, Indonesia, cotton with resist dyed patterning ( ikat) and silk embroidery, 19th century or earlier; the center horizontal line, where the two halves join, has been reduced by about 1 inch, 32 x 47 inches. This is a rare, early example.
