Here is a very large and stunning Ersari Turkoman embroidered purse.
The truest color representtation is in my second photo (close up).
Measuring 6 1/2" x 9" the piece is in mint condition with no flaws
that i can find. Rich vibrant colors of white, yellow, green, rust orange,
red, rust burgundy, purple and dark blue. The design is very crisp, making
very strong rams head designs within alternating triangles bordered by
lovely meandering almond blossom borders. Finley tasseled and bound with
a multi color border all around. The bag was embroidered on a very old piece of hand loomed cotton cloth and edged at the top with a bit of old cotton
print. This was was someone’s prized possession, probably made at the end of the 19th. Century. a true Museum Quality piece of Central Asian textile art.
