Important and beautiful very finely woven early Turkmen Khalyk fragment; glorious colors set off by the deep aubergine ground. Piece is lacking the bottom appendages and the border on the right side which fortunately retains the vertical brown line which would set off the innermost minor border to the field: full pile, symmetric knots, wefting of fine cotton and wool plied together( pepper and salt appearance of the back,) 32" x 16"[82 x 41cm]
