East Sumba Ceremonial Sash. Woven in supplementary-warp technique. Yellow and blue details are painted in after the weaving is completed. 199x57 cm. Mid-20th Century. Background colours are natural indigo and brown derived from the sogo plant. This is a particulary fine, tightly woven example.
