this is called a gala it is joined with a round hand made ring which helps in carry the water pot by balancing it on the head.this piece is early 19th century(even earlier) from the lambada gypsy tribe of andhra pradesh of southern India.it has tree silk or cotton silk used in the embroidery.all the colors are natural dyes.its has all original shells.
