moroccan high atlas horse cover / blanket. There are every day horse blankets for every day use but the most beautiful and intricate, such as this one, are reserved for ceremony. The centre panel is of knotted pile and the surrounds are of flat weave, upon which the most intricate embroidery has been stitched. At each end there are rows of flaps which again are embroidered and finished with a fine line of hand stitched floss silk. The knotted pile section is consistent with the weaving of a little known Berber group called Ait Yacoub from the Djebel Siroua region which lies between the High and Anti Atlas ranges. It is a superb example of Berber work and will enhance any collection. Reference 2489. Size 138 x 90cms. 4ft.6in. x 3ft. Euros 1,450.
