Antique large Turkish village rug. Tired of the same old medallions and palmettes, try stripes. Very unusual village weaving with striped or cane design field and, yes, woven with no borders. Original selvages and braided end finish. All natural colors featuring lovely greens, light blues, cochineal reds and excellent yellows. Appears to use much natural dark brown wools and perhaps a bit of goat hair as well. Overall good condition and suitable for light traffic floor use. Reasonably clean. a rare if not one of a kind weaving. 19th c. 4'7" x 8'10"
