fragment of a rare tibetan saddle rug. it is late 19th century but all colors are natural. the main color is a wonderfull gold yellow. uncommon is its small size, trapezoidal shape and cloud-mountain-water design.the ends are 60cm wide and proportionally the lenght should not have been over 90cm, although it is difficult to guess what is missing. the length of saddles made in 2 halve is traditionally adapted by the add of a cloth sewn in the middle. the half circle holes on both ends seem to indicate that it was an undersaddle. it is very finely knotted and the drawing carefuly executed. alltogehter looks like to be originally a special order of some importance.
