Fine Antique Afshar Rug Region: South East Persia Size 2.10m x 1.60m Circa 1910 Rugs from the Afshar tribes emanate from the rural vicinity of Kirman. Earlier pieces were woven on a wool foundation. This rug is dated from slightly later and is woven on cotton and displays a larger scaled variant on the ‘zeli-sultani’ design used in finer rugs.
