Back
Ancient and charming little Caucasian Kuba rug with Seychour double border and dazzling abrashed main field with lattice of palmettes including pea green highlights. Original condition with a couple of tiny holes: pic 5 in field, pic 6 in border.
This item has no sighs of restoration and although side cords are worn the ends are intact with soumac bands intact.
Size approx 5 feet x 3 feet
A fragile rug suitable for hanging rather than a floor, note that foundation warps are showing in places. Lustrous wool, silky to the touch, great palette and would benefit from a delicate professional clean as has been apparently unwashed for quite a while.
Would be an amazing addition to almost any collection as possibly dates from mid 19th century.
This item will be on view at Olympia Hilton Hotel London in November
